Our present research involves design and synthesis of new, well-defined smart architectural polymers (block, graft, bottle-brush, star, core cross-linked star, nanogels) aimed mainly towards targeted drug/gene delivery applications, by application of latest organic transformation techniques along with controlled radical polymerization strategies. Development of different polyelectrolyte systems and their interaction studies with surfactants, proteins and nucleic acids have also been part of our research interest. We are also interested in the synthesis of various hydrogels and study their swelling behavior. Our research contribution also includes development of novel functionalized and polymer-coated nanoparticles that have proved effective as targeted drug-delivery agents.
